My tomato plants are wilting and appear to die. We’re in south West Michigan with extreme heat but we water regularly. They are next to green beans and potatoes and wonder if that is a mistake They are quite crowded and maybe need to trim bottom leaves

Maybe beneficial nematodes for the maggots that attacked the onions. I also highly recommend the Quickstar variety of Kohlrabi, which matures quickly. It has worked very well for me in Zone 6, Ohio.

Hey Gary. Garden looking great as always. I'm year 4 with my current garden, but I'm still having trouble with growing peppers and eggplants in my raised beds. They do great in my grow bags. Peppers i planted at the same time in beds and grow bags look like night and day. I have no idea what to do.

Gary, I have tomato horn worms here in Alabama. I found 7 this year so far. They really decimated 2 or 3 of my jalapeños. I didn't know they are peppers. 😢 Do I need to cut back the skeletonized peppers? (there are a few leaves toward the bottom).

We have so much Bassil we dont know where to put it anymore. We had one plant, let it grow to about 1 foot, cut it in half and planted the cutting. Kept doing this every two to three weeks. Now its too much hahaha

Squash bugs are human like they can see you and hide behind a stem from you so look carefully. These bugs are bad they spread powder mildew so does the aphid

My problem is black aphids also from the next door neighbors snowball tree they over winter in the snowball and burning bush trees

Sun flower roots exude a chemical that inhibits other plants.

I know this is an old video but I’m thinking my plants have sun scald and not blossom end rot. The peppers are getting brown spots on the side and not at the end. I’m hoping I’m not being too optimistic putting up shade cloth and thinking that will solve the problem. I’ve treated these plants like it’s blossom end rot and don’t get anywhere for years. Any non super hot pepper every year gets the brown spots on the side and keep getting discouraged. I hope I’m fixing the problem

When you sprayed your cucumbers, what did you spray them with? My cucumbers have a big cucumber beetle infestation. I sprayed them yesterday with Captain Jack's Insecticidal Super Soap. Fingers crossed.

I plant my mini peppers in a half barrel, but I keep it up against the wall of the house so it doesn’t get too much rain. I’d rather water it than have them drown. I wish I had muscadine my cousin in North Carolina had them and I just love them but I’m way over here in the Virginia front Royal where the skyline Drive begins and we are getting some high 90s up to 90 day and I think Muska would be happy and maybe some collards I love some collards.

How much do we use in a soil mix for plant before planting? Say in a 10inch pot?

Hi i am from india and often i get fungus gnats in my seed starting mix. Quick questions 1) i dont see any worm casting options around me so what is the alternate? I have mustard cake,neem powder, vermi compost, bonemeal, rock phosphate and all these things. Can any of these be added as a nutrient? 2) so instead of peat moss can i use coco peat ? So my mix would look like this cocopeat one part vermiculite one part perlite .. Is that ok? And as i asked before which of the above can i use as a nutrient? I plan to use hot water to sterilise as u instructed I will be keeping it indoors

If nothing else, top a sucker so it won't keep growing nut it still shades your fruit. I've had too many scarred snd blistered tomatoes because of the avowed "single stem pruning is crazy good!" tutorials. Shade is needed. You're my go-to source for gardening, helping me know what to do and why and keep costs low. Looking forward to a cucumber pruning video on this scale and any means of supporting heavy, many-branching bell peppers. I resoundingly support your encouragement to spend a little more for quality support equipment! I once saw a guy in a hardware store looking confused and holding a half dozen of the BIG ring tomato cages. I stopped him. Told him they are worthless and the rings will start snapping off before the season is done. I redirected him to the large square tomato towers with heavy, coated metal. He was surprised but grateful. I swear, the cheap and tawdry supplies and soil are the #1 reason people give up on gardening. Set up for failure.

Thanks for this. I'm in upstate NY and only using Neem. I went out today found 4 eggs on 4 stems. Used painters tape. Would use water to see if any bugs wandering but it's poured here the last few days so will wait til the plants need water. I'm assuming a SVB? Since only single eggs?

Hey,would 50% garden soil and %50 potting soil be a good mixture?my peppers and tomatoes were already growing I repotted them into containers and gave them fish emulsion and some plant food because the leaves were spotted yellow and wilting when I got them...That seemed to work immediately(which I got that remedy from your other video),I'm more worried about the soil mix.

I'm in southwest Louisiana, no temperature dip, hot temps. My first set of tomatoes are perfect but as you move to the top, they're cat facing, leaves are curled also. Cherokee purples and beefsteaks. What all do y'all fertilize with? Mine are all in those felt like grow bags

A friend of mine told me years ago to add a aspirin in the soil when you plant the tomato in the ground. I tried this this year and it works great. I took your advice and I water the tomato plants every 2 to 3 week with the aspirin. Thank you

If some small cucumber getting brown and dry what is the issue for them ??

My garden is in transition. I’m in Md 7a Lettuce planted several months ago is pretty much done. I’ve been pulling up the remaining lettuce plants. Is that correct or should I just cut them back? Also what spray do I need to buy for my tomatoes? I don’t have any pests yet This video is exactly what I need for my zone and garden needs.
